It's time again for some Sports Dots, where I dot/ink a teams logo or my version/design for a logo. I needed a gift for my nephew's 19th birthday, so I dotted the first Toronto Blue Jays logo (my take on it), because he's such a big fan. Also, your 19th is an important birthday, so I wanted an important gift. I've always found that gifts that people put work & thought into, were special in a way that purchased objects could never be. I dotted this over the course of two days. The maple leaf is solid ink (chiaroscuro) and not in dots (strictly for effect). I decided not to incorporate the baseball that the original logo had. Everything is drawn freehand, as with all my works. Music is Baseball by Buck 65 itunes.apple.com from the Hiss 2-Hissteria LP itunes.apple.com He is a rapper/artist/musician from rural Canada. He is very talented & his music is diverse. I recommend him if you like music with range. He sometimes raps & sings as different persona/characters.

Using a small rounded brush accompanied with round brushstrokes makes the branch look more 3 dimensional. Start from where your light source is and make rounded brush strokes to create the detail on the branch. Also, leave small areas of shadows to create bumps, and imperfections in the branch.
